Our Morningside Summer 2024 Fellowship is a 10-week paid internship program which offers undergraduate students the opportunity to work at a rapidly growing FinTech startup! You will develop skills, grow your network, and get real working experience to bring with you to your future careers! There will also be the opportunity to gain mentorship and participate in Stavvy’s engagement events to fully round out your experience.  In this Finance Fellowship role, you will be an integral part of the Finance team, responsible for spreadsheet ownership, assisting in financial audits and improving our financial models.

What you'll do

  • Assisting in the creation, maintenance, and analysis of various reports on Excel spreadsheets for various projects
  • Collaborating with auditors to gather, analyze, and verify financial data and documents
  • Assisting in the development and customization of reporting templates across multiple platforms to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Providing support in data extraction, transformation, and ensuring accuracy with internal processes for reporting purposes
  • Collaborating with the team to improve financial models through analyzing, automating, and interpreting data to support decision-making
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to address emerging needs and ad-hoc projects

Who you are

  • A rising Junior or Senior
  • Eager to contribute and participate in various projects and tasks
  • Proficient in Excel including advanced knowledge of formulas, functions, and data manipulation techniques
  • Familiar with developing financial models to analyze and evaluate business performance
  • Nice to have: Familiarity with revenue recognition principles and standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail in all aspects of work, especially data analyzation
  • Ability to grasp new concepts, tools, and techniques quickly
  • Ability to multitask and handle projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment
  • Familiar with coursework in technical accounting topics such as financial reporting, auditing, or taxation
